Innovation in Irish Food and Drink: Past, Present and Future, 10-12 March 2017

Food production and consumption is a pressing global issue with special relevance in Munster. Situated in the self-declared ‘Food Capital of Ireland’ and linked to pioneering academic programmes in Food Science and Food Business, UCC is uniquely positioned to host a conference addressing the broad field of food studies. Our conference, Innovation in Irish Food and Drink: Past, Present and Future will be held on March 10-12, 2017 at the main UCC campus.

The conference is being organized by food historians Dr. Chad Ludington (Marie Curie Senior Research Fellow/School of History) and Regina Sexton (Adult Continuing Education/School of History), and will feature food historians, food geographers, food scientists, business leaders, food producers, restaurateurs, and food writers.

The conference will showcase the research work of UCC staff to the wider community and, in particular, to the local and regional food business community. The first of its kind at UCC, this conference is open to the general public and will augment UCC, Cork, and Munster’s reputation as a major Irish and European food region.

Registration is now OPEN and free to all, please see below.
